OUVALA

The product

A sealed box, a battery, and nothing to plug in.

It goes on a trailer, a generator or an excavator in three minutes. It lasts for years. It talks straight to the cellular network — no gateway to install in the yard.

Specifications

What is inside the box

Network
LTE-M (Cat-M1)
Bands B2, B4, B12, B13, B66 — covers Rogers, Bell and Telus. NB-IoT fallback where LTE-M is thin.
Positioning
Multi-constellation GNSS
GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou. Multi-constellation matters: a yard ringed by buildings cuts away half the sky.
Power
Lithium-thionyl + capacitor
Lithium-thionyl chemistry holds enormous energy but collapses under a current pulse in the cold. The hybrid capacitor absorbs the pulse. That is what makes the difference at −30 °C.
Battery life
Up to 5 years
At one fix per day. Roughly 18 months at one fix per hour. You set the cadence per asset.
Temperature
−40 °C to +85 °C
Verified in a climate chamber: 48 h at −35 °C under real load, with positioning and transmission checked end to end.
Sealing
IP67
Temporary immersion, road salt, pressure washing. The box spends the winter under a trailer.
Mounting
Magnets or bolts
Under a frame, inside a closed compartment, on a tongue. No wiring, no power.
Certification
ISED Canada
IC number on the label. Without it the device cannot legally transmit in Canada — and it is the importer who answers for it.

Installation

Three minutes per asset, once and for all

  1. 01

    You pick the spot

Out of sight, metal beside it rather than above it. We show you the good spots per equipment type — it is the only decision that takes any judgement.

  2. 02

    You mount it

Magnet or bolt. The device wakes on its own and registers on the network. You watch it appear in the app while you are still standing next to it.

  3. 03

    You name it

CAT 305 excavator, 20 ft trailer, generator 27. The name your crew already uses, not a serial number.

Alerts

What wakes you up, and what does not

  • Left the zone

An asset crosses the boundary you drew. Position and heading in the notification.

  • Movement outside hours

It moves at 3 a.m. on a Sunday. You set working hours per site.

  • Device removed

Someone pries or unscrews the box. The alert leaves before it is out of range.

  • Jamming detected

A cellular jammer kills the link. The device flags it instead of simply going quiet.

  • Low battery

Months of warning, not days. We tell you which ones to swap before the season.

  • Unexpected silence

An asset that should have reported has not. A silent tracker is information, not an absence of it.

The platform

The map, and the hours that come out of it

Position is the beginning. What you invoice at month end is the time each machine actually spent on each site — computed from the zones, not from a timesheet filled in from memory on Friday.
